The CCF/ECF (and likely the reformed Teachers' Standards, when they come) give significant importance in section two to the understanding pupil misconceptions and this relationship to prior knowledge. They state that a teacher should learn how to 'build on prior knowledge by Identifying possible misconceptions and planning how to prevent these forming (2.d). Here we build on the prompts we used for our prior knowledge tool (Tool 1) to create a prompt that displays a table of possible misconceptions your pupils could hold.
